Monthly Scooter & Motorbike Rental in Phuket (2026): Real Prices and What to Check
Updated 2 November 2026
If you're staying in Phuket for a month or more — working remotely, training Muay Thai, or just slowing down — renting by the month is far cheaper than paying a daily rate. But monthly prices are rarely shown in one place, and they swing a lot with the bike and the season.
Below are monthly prices published by Phuket rental shops (checked November 2026), plus what to agree with the shop before you take the keys.
Monthly prices by bike type
| Bike type | Examples | Typical monthly price |
|---|---|---|
| Small automatic scooter, 110–125cc | Honda Scoopy, Click 125, Yamaha Fino | ฿3,500–4,500 |
| Bigger scooter, 155–160cc | Honda Click 160, PCX 160, Yamaha NMAX | ฿4,500–7,000 |
| Adventure scooter, 160cc | Honda ADV 160 | ฿7,000–7,500 |
| Maxi-scooter, 300–350cc | Honda Forza 350, ADV 350, Yamaha XMAX | ฿9,000–18,000 |
| Big scooter / big bike, 560–750cc | Yamaha TMAX 560, Honda X-ADV 750 | ฿25,000–75,000 |
Most of these figures are low-season rates. The range for big bikes is wide because model year and season matter a lot: an older X-ADV 750 in the low season sits at the bottom of the range, while a new one booked for December–February sits at the top.
On Goja, some shops already show a lower daily rate for longer rentals — for example, a Honda ADV 160 drops from ฿450/day for short rentals to ฿250/day for 21–30 days (about ฿7,500 a month).
How high season changes the price
December to February is peak season, and November, March and April are busy too. During these months:
- Daily-rate bikes cost much more — for big bikes, often around double the low-season rate.
- Long rentals are where you have leverage. A shop that rents you a bike for 3–6 months has guaranteed income through the quiet months, so many will give a better monthly rate than their peak daily price suggests — but you usually have to ask.
- Lock the price for the whole term. Agree in writing that your monthly rate won't rise when peak season starts.
What to agree before you sign
- The total price and how you pay — monthly instalments or upfront, and what happens if you leave early.
- The deposit — passport, cash (and how much), or your choice. For long rentals, many shops accept a cash deposit or a copy of your passport instead of the original. See our guide to passport deposits.
- Servicing — who pays for oil changes, tyres and brake pads over a few months. Many shops include routine servicing on long rentals.
- Breakdowns — whether the shop swaps the bike or sends a mechanic, and how fast.
- Delivery — many shops deliver to your condo or villa for long rentals, sometimes free.
- Damage and theft — what you pay if the bike is scratched, dropped or stolen, and whether any insurance is included.
- Photos at handover — photograph every side, existing scratches, fuel and odometer before you ride away.
Don't forget your licence
A month is a long time to ride without the right licence. In Thailand you generally need your home licence with a motorcycle category plus an International Driving Permit that covers motorcycles — and if your home licence is restricted by engine size, make sure it covers the bike you rent. Police checkpoints do check, and riding unlicensed can void your travel insurance. Check the current rules with your embassy or IDP issuer.
