Phuket Scooter Rental Prices (2026): What You'll Actually Pay

Updated 21 October 2026

A scooter is the easiest way to get around Phuket — beaches, viewpoints and night markets are all a short ride apart. But "how much is it?" has more than one answer: the bike, the area, the season and how long you rent all move the price.

Below are real prices from bikes listed on Goja (checked October 2026), plus every other cost to budget for.

Daily prices by bike type

Bike typeExamplesDaily price on Goja
Automatic scooter, 110–125ccHonda Scoopy, Click 125i, Lead 125฿250–300
Bigger scooter, 160ccHonda Click 160i, PCX 160, ADV 160฿300–450
Adventure scooter, 350ccHonda ADV 350฿800
Dual-sport / trail, 250–300ccHonda CRF250L, CRF300L฿1,000
Big bikes, 560cc+Yamaha TMAX 560, Honda X-ADV 750, Yamaha MT-09, R6฿1,500–2,500

For most visitors a 125cc automatic is plenty: it handles Phuket's hills with one person, is easy to park and sips fuel. Go for a 160cc if you're riding two-up or doing the steeper roads around Kata, Karon and Nai Harn.

What changes the price

  • The shop. Each shop sets its own prices and deposit rules. On Goja today, the same Honda Click 125i is ฿250/day at one shop and ฿300/day at another — worth comparing.
  • Season. December–February is high season; prices and demand go up and popular bikes book out. Booking ahead helps.
  • Rental length. Many shops lower the daily rate for longer rentals. Where a shop offers this, the bike page shows the rate for each length.
  • Bike age and model. Newer and bigger bikes cost more.

The full cost of a rental

Here is how a booking on Goja adds up — no extra fees at pickup:

1. Booking fee (online). 15% of the rental, minimum ฿100, paid when you book with PromptPay or card.

2. The rest at the shop (cash). 85% of the rental, paid when you pick up the bike.

Example — Honda Click 125i in Kata, ฿250/day:

  • 3 days = ฿750 rental → ฿112.50 online + ฿637.50 cash at the shop
  • 1 day = ฿250 rental → ฿100 online (includes the ฿100 minimum) + ฿212.50 at the shop = ฿312.50 total

The bike page shows these amounts — and the total — before you book.

3. Deposit (refundable). Separate from the price and returned when you bring the bike back. Depending on the shop it's your passport, cash (e.g. ฿3,000 for a scooter), or your choice. See our guide to passport deposits.

4. Fuel. Not included. Shops usually hand over the bike with some fuel and expect a similar level back. A scooter tank is small, so filling up is cheap.

5. Helmets. Always wear one — it's the law and checkpoints enforce it. Every bike on Goja comes with two helmets.

Tips to avoid surprise costs

  • Photograph the bike before you leave: every side, existing scratches, fuel level and odometer.
  • Agree the return time and ask what happens if you're late.
  • Ask about damage — what happens if the bike is scratched or dropped.
  • Ride licensed. Your home licence with a motorcycle category plus an International Driving Permit covering motorcycles; without them your travel insurance may not cover you.
